Very slight Knowcking from front N/S. HELP PLEASE!

    Hi

About 4 months ago my car very suddenly developed a knocking noise from the front nearside. I've checked for play in all joints, checked drop link wishbones struts etc.

The noise occurs when going over small bumps and imperfections on the road surface and is more noticeable at very low speeds (10-15mph). Its very hard to explain but its like a tapping rattly knocky kind of noise. But not very loud and it has not developed much more since i 1st heard it.

    I would appreciate any feedback.

Its a 1.4 saxo furio if that helps?

    Thanks

Very slight noise - your one of the lucky ones!!!

It will likely be a drop link, buy them in pairs for about £15.00. Can be tricky to get old one off sometimes so get someone with a bit of savvy to help unless you are experienced.

Oh yeah and stevo123 i have had the drop links off before but my god were they a bitch to do. Most people i speak to who are proud saxo owners say they have a knock/creak or generally annoying noise somewhere on the car so i may just put up with it. But i will defo check that bottom mount :/

i meant the upper gearbox mount under the battery so my engine is on the piss on the right hand side lol

Ahh right i will check it out. Do you recon if the mount itself is worn it would make any noises? I've got a feeling it will be the strut top mount but i'm really hoping it isn't that.
