new clutch...rubbing/grinding sound helpppp

had the clutch done last week on my car...and its not being right since at firt thaught it would just need some adjustment but whatever i do with the adjustment this still happens!

a horrible grinding noise whenever the clutch is pressed doesent go away in drive (drove it round the block but no further in fear of causing more damage) its an obvios rubbing/grinding noise and the odd squeek aswell thaught to be the realise bearing, this is a brand new full clutch kit and bearing fitted and the box has only done about 24k and was mint before all this so doubt its that? but it is dificlut to select gears when the clutch is also pressed again its like this no matter what the adjustment is like onit,iv even read the heynes and looked on here and 106owners to make sure i was doing the adjustment right and i have being doing checked around for any adstructions etc nothing in the way cable is all clipped on as it should everything

really getting pissed off now if its not one thing its another

    cheers for any help

it wasent a valeo clutch btw it was just one from EURO CAR PARTS but my old 106 only had a budget clutch init and that was fine

Don't like stating the bleeding obvious, but did you fit the clutch plate the right way around?

I didn't fit it myself mate but I'd assume it was as my mate who did it knows his way round 106/saxos

sounds daft but was it centralised properly the slights miscalculation can make a lot of problems and you are ment to use a thin coating of high temp grease on the release bearing.
i had my clutch done by a garage and they forgot to do the same and it grinded n clunked and hard to get in certain gears. in the end one of my pressure plate fins snapped and knackerd up all my box. so what id do is get your mate to check it all out otherwise it can lead to bigger probs. hope that helps

well we did half the work each i dont know the first thing about clutchs so i got him the parts and tools (bought proper alingment tool) and i just stripped the box etc off for him

think im just gona take it to a garage tbh i realy cba stripping it all down again

is there anychance the cable could be causing any of this? if its shagged maybe? it shouldnt be but never know i suppose

Hey mate, just got a vtr myself, everything perfect apart from the exact same issue!

taking it to a friends garage in the morning. ill let you know the issue.

to make sure its the same one, does it rattle when you put it to biting point, when you accelrate in gear, and when the engine does the raking (release the accel pedal)

if so then i'll let you know how it goes.

could have a few splines broke on ur pressure plate mate

What make was the clutch, Transmech?

It does sound an awful lot like the friction plate been fitted the wrong way round, and possibly damaged itself and/or the pressure plate/release bearing. If the problem arose as soon as the job had been completed and there were no noises before it has to be that, theres nothing else that could have been done wrong that would allow everything to go back together.
