Gearbox options on VTR

I know this has been asked before but just wanted to double check..

Gearbox has gone in my 1998 S Reg Saxo VTR, found a box not to far away for reasonable money at a breakers taken out of a 1998 R Reg Saxo 1.0 or a 1.1 theyre not sure..

I'm not worried about the increase in performance or decrease in fuel economy just need to know if these boxes are a direct fit, i wont need to change driveshafts or anything before i go and buy the box.

    Thanks
    Merv

Yeah they dont have the Reg number as the Box was already off the car and the shell has gone... But it was a 1100 engine model... Bought it anyway..lol

Gargae have no asked me about changing the clutch, i explained i have only recently had a new clutch fitted less than 1000 miles ago... They have asked me to check if my VTR clutch has the same splines as the 1100 Gear box.... I have found on Euro Car parts the 1100 gearbox should be 18 splines, Anyone know what a saxo VTR is?

from what i've gathered on here all the gear boxes are supposed to be the same fitment and go on each cars, and they're supposed to share identical boxes with the 106s too, whether this helps or not i duno

    Thanks all for the replies...

I messaged jeffchiz about his conversion and he confirmed the VTS/VTR clutch does fit with the 1100 Gearbox..
Having it done Tuesday so fingers crossed, will be so nice to reverse without everyone looking as the car whines and grinds its way up the road lol
