Drilling airbox

    Can you drill the airbox in Saxo VTR? (the oval shape filter) If so does it produce any gains?

    You can do. As for power gains it will be greater than what it is now, but hardly noticable.

    A friend of mine had an enclosed filter on his Ph3 Cammed VTS, just from drilling a few holes on top of the enclosure gave him 8bhp on the rolling road when it was mapped at chipwizards.

    draws in hot air if you do so youll probably loose power

    where abouts do you drill? because i don't want to drill a hole through the side of the filter closest to the throttle body as unfiltered air would get through?

    you will draw more hot air in....

    thus more than likely losing performance

    i know you want the noise but dont do it, just save for right air filter dont fall in to the chavvy ways

    Take the filter out when you Drill the holes and take the airbox off.

    It will draw in hot air, but when your car is stationary its having to suck the cool air through the piping.

    Imagine breathing through a straw when youve done 100meter sprint, then drill some holes in your straw, will make it easier to breath lol

    dont drill the box, get a K&N (other make available) panel filter and then put a bigger cold air intake to the box

    Whats the point of having the air filter enclosed in a box if your sucking every dirt particle into it and hot air?

    Do NOT drill the standard airbox on a saxo.

    before you drill the air box go and but a pair of trackies, white trainers, a burbery cap and tuck your trackies into you socks.
