Help needed immediately please!!!!!!!

   My misus has a 54 plate 206 Zest 1.1 and for the last few months the lights have been flicking on and off at will with push or twist of the stick. Its getting progressively worse now to the point were they are cutting out the indicators and flashing. Obviously it needs sorting because it could potentially cause an accident, and thats something that I really dont want.
   
   I was wondering if anyone as experienced this before and if they have any ideas as to what the problem is???
   
   I have had a look for a wire shorting as thats what I initially thought the problem was but found nothing and I have used a multi meter to check the wires to the lights and they seem to be fine so I think the problem is with the stick. Does this co-inside with anyone elses findings???
   
   I am an Aeronautical Electronics and Avionics Engineer so I know my way around a circuit so please leave any suggestions.

   Its obviously the stick, either take it apart and clean the solidified grease off, or get a new stick. Or better still take it to a Peugeot garage. You can afford it with a job like that.
