Servicing Parts

So, looking to do a fairly comprehensive service on my 1.1 MK1 Saxo for a few reasons such as, my MPG is lower than I should be expecting and I've had it almost a year and I don't have much history on when things have been replaced etc and also the fact I've never done it before but fancy learning, I have a friend who's fairly able who I'll just be assisting but hopefully learning as much as I can.

So far I'm thinking of replacing my oil, oil, air & fuel filters, spark plugs, cam belt, coolant, brake fluid and possibly brakes and maybe even things like wishbones, bushes etc.

Basically what I'm asking is, is where's the best place to buy online and ideally exactly which parts with link if possible I need to buy as I'm worried I'll buy an incompatible part and sometimes theirs different makes etc.

Budget isn't really an issue, obviously I want to spend as little as possible but don't mind spending a bit extra on better quality oil etc.

    Thanks in advance, appreciated.

Ebay is a good place, a fair few motor shops sell their servicing parts on there mate.

Thanks for the reply, I get slightly confused, when for instance, on some part sites you enter your reg and it lists the parts supposedly compatible with your car and you end up with 10 compatible air filters from 3 different manufacturers in a range of sizes and ranging in price from say £10 to £60 and I'm not sure which one to go for lol if that makes any sense.

thats a good site, and about your question about which one to get, go for the middle to lower priced one, the higher ones usually are higher as they fit other models of the saxo, well that is what i think is the reason.

You might also want to try your local motor factor.

I have a guy who supplies the trade near me from a small shop. He was as cheap as Euro Car parts and if anything doesn't fit, he will swap it for me.

    Just a thought....
