Stupid Alarm

I was woken up in the middle of last night to the alarm going off. Went out and no one was trying to nick it so all good, just unlocks then locks the car again. 5 minutes later off it goes again, so went out kept my finger on the alarm button on the dash... all fine. 30 minutes later its going off again. So in the end I just left the car unlocked so I could get asleep. I know they are a common problem these but as I never got a manual with the car can anyone tell me how they actually work, as in turning them off etc? Sometimes when driving along the alarm will go off, not very often but its a pain in the ass.

haha, yer it was on my drive though so was confident it would be ok. Plus im on the outskirts, moved out of the ghetto 8 months ago! Iv heard they have faulty sensors and this will prob be the problem. would rather fix it really than just turnit off. but turning it off will do me for now :-)

I was just thinking.. Can you not just lock the car without putting the alarm on? Like most alarm systems have 1 press for lock and a second press to set the alarm.

Nah mate just has it automatically. 1 button for open and the 2nd button for close. Theres a button on the dash to turn it off but not sure how it works. When the alarm goes off and im in the car I just use the button on the dash o turn the alarm off. Surely someone will know how it works.

your ultra sonic sensors are faulty. you can just unplug these from your alarm box. if its a tex alarm as most saxos have these its the red and white conectors that you unplug and its normally on the top right of the box

Sometimes if your battery keeps going off......it can mean your battery is on it way out.........had this sort of problem before. charged battery and it was fine.

this has happened on my VTS. if when you are leaving your car you hold the button by the hazards for a few seconds until the red light stays on then get out and lock the car with your key. this leaves the car locked but with the alarm disabled. i plan to get mine fixed properly but for now this has been fine and the alarms not going off every 10 mins!!!
