Clutch or Gearbox?

  1. #1
my cars been a bit funny recently... every now and again when i go on the motorway i'll put my foot down, the revs will go up quite quickly but the car remains at a constant speed (it may accelerate slowly).

Sounds like a slipping clutch to me but most days its fine.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

mine was exsacty the same but my gearbox was dipping oil onto the clutch causing it to slip and you will have to get both re-newed because can not wipe oil off clutch or it could just be clutch worn down plates on the clutch is mabey worn down .

Clutch is slipping, any other issues with gearbox like crunching etc? if not will just be worn clutch.

new clutch at worst a crank case oil seal
if the crank oil seal is away it will leak oil onto the clutch causing it to slip you will no if you have the box out and the clutch is oily either way your gona need a new clutch
i use luk rep set clutch in my saxo and some boys use valeo clutches but ther slightly deerer
