    Will some one pleeeeease tell me how to tighten the alternator belt on a vts mk 2 replaced the crank pulley and now the belts abit loose and if i hear that dirty noise one more time im gonna go insane.

    Squeling noise from the loose fan belt when started goes after a lil while theres to much give in the belt dont no how to tighten it .

    OUt of curiosity... Does the squeeling noise go away when you dip the clutch? I can't help you but after the long journy the other day my VTR's started squeeling but dissapears once dipping the clutch haha

    10mm spanner i believe (If not 13mm) on the nut next to plastic covered wire, its on the long threaded rod..

    tringaling,thats what i thought but no matter what it wont tighten in the garage on monday just get a new belt cheers though mate. And chris its just on start up dipping clutch does seem to sort it but the noise should go after a lil while if its a loose alternator belt.

    Sean its Eeeeasy, but you kneed three spanners. One for the through bolt at the top [what the alternator hinges on] I think 15mm, one for the locknut I think 13mm and one for the long adjuster bolt- 10mm. But you have to loosen the first two before you can move the 10mm. Just adjust it up a bit tighter but dont go mad, and dont forget to retighten the 15 and the 13mm afterwards!
