VTR 'spluttering'

  1. #1
Recently this problem has started, it started off like a slight misfire when cruising at 30mph with slight throttle..

however this problem has got worse, especially when cold.. it's barely driveable on slight revs, judders pretty violently.

However if i have 1/2 revs or full revs it doesn't happen. And there is no loss in power, pulls through revs as it should.

    Service is due in 8k.

My thoughts are the coilpack is on its way out? or when i had my head 'helicoiled' there may be some shards of metal on the plug causing it not to spark properly hence the misfires? or blocked injectors? Tryed redex, but didnt cure it.

Just thought someone on here might of experienced this before, and could point me in the right direction before i go spending on new parts

    Any help appreciated!

having same prblems at mo. been told to check lamba sensor, and clean idle control valve to rule out the easy ones.

I don't have any lamba sensors lol. Not been connected for 20k miles or so, and never had a problem before hand.

I also cleaned the ICV recently, I'll just have to do my service early. New plugs etc, if that don't cure it, i'll try someones coilpack

Knowing my luck, i'll do that.. and it'll be the injectors lolz.

Just been out in the car, and it rarely does it when warm.. so it's weird.

mines only just been serviced too. before service only did it once, now doing it nearly everyday

Try the MAP sensor on the inlet manifold. Remove it and give it a clean up with carb cleaner etc.
