power steering takes notions...

   hi iv a 99 mk1 vtr, past coulpe days the power steering seems to decide it dosnt want to work, then randomly it will start working again and there is a short sharp cherping noise coming from car. finking of jus throwing another pump on but was wanting make sure its the pump not relayy or something. and demister and heaters work 100%

   are there any leaks? have you checked the fluid level? its always worth checking the relay before replacing the pump. also sometimes the connections on the relay get corroded so its worth checking that. but they do seem to go on saxo's iv replaced mine and it a real pain to do because everything is at awkward angles. hope this helps. =]

   yea fluid is dead on and there are no leaks. where bout is the relay for it? cheers
