  12. #12

The citroen ones are off the Berlingo van, they only fit 4 studs as standard. The peugeot ones fit any steelie and are widely available.

i dunno how anyone could like vtr alloys over rallye steels, i sold my vtr alloys for like £50 almost gave them away, and vts wheels are too boring and common, rallye steels instantly give your car that motorsport look, even c5 steels are good, they are 15" so a bit bigger than rallye steels so can fit bigger brakes under them and also iirc they are lighter, so a few track cars are using them now painted in bright colours
  22. #22
anyway people who dont like steels stop spamming his thread he wanted decent pics of saxos with steels and wasnt asking for peoples opinions

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PEUGEOT-SPORT-...item35a58f9aeb

.. I was thinking about getting some for mine round about August time and getting sprayed Gloss Black with a Sprayed yellow lip round the edge and use them as summer wheels running on Toyo Proxes and stick the VTR originals on the car for Winter .

they are the s1 steels, id get the s2 steels as they are 6" wide rather than 5.5"

EDIT: im sure you can get them from peugeot for about £35 each brand new, 106 parts ive found to be a complete rip off when it comes to wheels/body panels
  25. #25
im glad im not the only one who cant stand these people who just like the plain old vtr/vts crap!!

ITS ALL ABOUT THE S1/S2 STEELIES
  26. #26
VTR Spares, which are identical to Rallye steels, but cheaper. With berlingo centers.

    Priceless quote.

I find, that on a decent vts, that's had decent money spent on it elsewhere, they can look ok. And make sense as like you say, they're light weight.

However, on your average sax-p members 1.1, they give off an air of cheapness that screams "look at me, i can't afford alloys, these wheels must be cool, they came off of a car called a Rallye ergo my car must now be a Rallye" you catch my drift? They're almost as bad as the 205 wheels.

As a side note, the c5 steels are in actual fact, Fugly. The rallye steel works as it has a parallelogram shaped cut out/design, implying motion and speed. The c5 wheel just looks toss with it's circles.

  28. #28
its not a fact its down to personal preference, and i wasnt being naive when i said they give the car a motorsport look, thats what the attraction to them is, i got them purely because i liked them, and rallye steels sell for more than a set of vtr alloys, so if i saw them i wouldnt think cheapness, i would have to take a second look to make sure they aren't vtr spares sprayed white though lol

theres is an attraction to steelies that some people can see and your just not one of them ...

Right so since I drive a 1.1 I want a motorsport look, I also can afford alloys as I have 2 sets including a set of rare oz deep dish, I choose to have steels because I like them, and you can go low on them. All your posts, you have tunnel vision. Your right and no one else is.

lovin this thread more and more.... cant wait to get the steels on haha

OZ Volcanoes? They arn't rare, they're a relic of the 90's. No-one really liked them then, and guess what, they still don't.

If you wan't a motorsport look, you'll struggle. Saxo 1.1's weren't used in any form of it.

I flogged the steels off my Rallye within the first few days of owning it, i love them on the s1's, but they rust.

    i like steelies,

    yes it needs lowering but....

yea they rust if you curb them, mine never rusted, i reburbed them my self and looked sexy when they had been sprayed up, and the amount of people who said they liked them, and appreciated the car more because they new i wasnt just some chav fitting some ripspeed alloys because they look cool, they respected it more.

Also i now have a set of Borbet A's which i didnt get much change form £700 from them and sometimes i feel that i want the steels back because i miss the looks of them

I'm struggling to heed advice from someone who sprays a wheel with a rattle can and leaves the external weight on to do so:

This is the thing with you current trend of Saxo driving yoooves, you want all of the hype surrounding a modded car yet arn't prepared to spend the right money in the right places to do so. Which makes older people, ie me, laugh.

I'm not saying all this to be a cunt, i'm offering a genuine slant on something. That said, i think it's all falling on deaf ears....

I've said my piece re: cheap alternatives to alloys, so by all means, these are your cars/money, go forth and destroy!

PS. Your Borbets are too thin.
  39. #39
What size tyre do you run on the rallye steelies is it the same as the standard vtr rims or a low profile option?

jog on.... OMG i painted the wheel weight, and...... if you must know 2 days after that was taken i had brand new tires and weight put on the wheels

PS my borbets aren't to thin, if i wanted wider ones i would have bought wider ones...
  46. #46
i quite like the steelies but gonna stick with me vts ones imo
  47. #47
whenever i see a saxo with steelies, i think assume they lost there wheel trims lol
i can see why to have them on a track car but i think its same habbit which people are doing by stripping there car which will never even see a track

Alryt so he painted the wheel weight whats the big problem you make it sound like the end of the world and am guessing he re-painted them after whats the point in giving people abuse for little things like that and i like the width and the borbets on his car i know people are welcome to say if they like it or not but calm down abit
  50. #50
tbh you dont even need to put the weights on the outside of the wheel, just single point balance it on an inside weight, or use a stick-on weight on the inner of the rim.
  51. #51
Id rather spray over the wheel waight than have a great big silver thing on my wheel tbh lol

Anyway for steelys it has to be 406 15"s FTW!
  52. #52
Steelies look sweet if they're done right.

Also, paulydixon more money=better looking? No way man, you see hundreds of show cars that look ridiculous. I agree takin short cuts with your money all the time is stupid if you want a good looking car but the fact that 'yooves' can have nice looking cars disproves your point. Unless you're saying all the 'yooves' have ugly cars, in which case take another look around.

    Besides, everythings gunna date.
