whining so annoying

   when ignition is switched on there is a quite loud whining coming from power steering pump, its working fine and no probs but the noise is so annoying any ideaas???

   If its a very high pitched whine/hum that comes on before the engine even does which is loud enough to be heard without the bonnet popped youve got a wiring problem or dodgy pump/pump relay. They shouldnt make any noise until the engines running, they run off the alternator.

   yeah it is quite loud, where is the relay located, so i can check thi new ones and where can i get a new one.
