Important! : alternator problems?

    hey there this is only my second post about my 1999 west coast 1.4 only just started driving it due to insurance problems as i am 18, been fine for a few days but when i was driving it he radio light went off, battery light came on and whenever i press the indicator stork the car beeps at me and they dont come on>>? however all lights work fine as do hazards etc the car starts straight away no problem, i checked the battery and it was full so it must be the alternator? anyone have any suggestions as to what i can do thanks any help will be great

    If it was alternator your battery would be flat after an hour or so of driving. It does sound liek a crappy earth causing high ressistance. Check battery to body earth(s) as battery to engine would appear to be fine else starter would not turn let alone the engine run.

    yh checked it seem sokay my radio wont come on at all now? and when i flash my lights it sounds liek its losing power?

    Put wipers on then flash lights, if wipers slow down noticably then you are drawing mega current in the light circuit somewhere. Might be worth looking at the fuse box and checking for water damage. Also I hear ignition barrel/switches can fail, this also could be checked out. Sorry I can not be more specific. A multimeter would be a good buy about now to check voltages and resistance of cables and switches or possible take to an auto electrician to resolve.

    wiring problem mate my mates sax had same problems and was a complete rewire
