snapped dipstick

   i snapped the dipstick while it was in the holder bit a few weeks ago and iv left it and its been fine. should i take the sump off and try and get it out or shall i leave it?? if i did leave it could something go wrong??

   Where has it snapped? On the metal shaft, or has the orange plastic bit (that shows the oil level) come off?

   Common problem. They don't do any harm at all lying in the sump - won't go anywhere. A few 8V engines came with all metal dipsticks if you're ever passing a scrap yard?

   Metal ones are longer............. or the other way round cant remember. my furio one has bust and my metal vtr one wont fit..
