vtr gearbox in a furio?

is this possible to do at all? and what gains or losses would i see from this? as i do a fair few motorway miles and want to make the sax a bit more efficent

ye longer ratios so slower acceleration but higher top speed

higher top speed thanks sam, has anyone done this before? as in how much slower would it be for instance driving round town etc? as in would it be better just to re-condition my gearbox and put for instance the vtr 5th gear in?

its not gonna be like changing to driving a bus or anything it'll still be nippy probably a second slower to 60 or something, its a sports diff in the VTR box, so will cope with higher power better if you want to/have modified it too, ive got a 1.4 box in mine to speed it up acceleration wise (never go past 90 anyway) but it can go the other way. itd probably be in top gear about 500 rpm less to 70 mph or something. It really isnt a massive difference but will save you a bit in petrol..

i didnt even notice much difference between a 1.1 and VTR box so putting a vtr box on his car for better motorway miles is a no brainer!

end of the day the car is only as fast as you drive it

problem is as from september my car will be at uni with me problem is i live in surrey and plymouth is 200 miles away so want the car to sit a bit lower at higher speeds so im not revving the nuts off of it for 200 miles lol, the other thing my gearbox is on its way out anyways but its ptobably more hassle to buy the bits and refurb it rather than get a vtr box
