Please Advise

   Hi i bought my 1st saxo other day and want to know where to start.
   
   My budget it not large and i already have my rear windows tinted, and is now looking at getting a stero system put in. Is this a good way to start and also what are the best speakers to company a sub??

   Very generic question mate, it's all about taste and what YOU want with your car. Some eople are happy with some 6x9's on the parcel shelf and other go to the extreme and fit monster subs, amps, caps and all that. To me it just adds weight, costs more in fuel to lug it all around and hurts performance. This is the point I am making here - it's all about what the owner wants.
   
   Best bet is to look at other forums more related to stereo or maybe in the Saxo In Car Entertainment (ICE) & Security section. I hope you get it how you want.

   Like the previous post it is all up to you, do you want a performance car or would you rather concentrate on hi-fi ? If you want a bit of both it could be worth getting a decent head unit that has a few pre-outs ( for amp e.t.c), digital radio (or DAB ready), i-pod connectivity, then just up-grade the standard front and rear speakers, you could maybe disconnect the rear speakers and put in 6x9's instead. Then if you want to put subs in at a later date you have the pre-outs etc to do so. Could also be worth having the door panels (front and rear) and boot area sound proofed, as saxo's are tiny as fook and rattle like a bitch at times. As for makes JL audio and focal have served me well over the years.

   Thanks alot for the help, If i wanted to put 6x9's in the parcel shelf do i have to disconect the back speakers and use connect the leads from them to the 6x9 or do i need a seperate connection?

   again it depends.
   
   read up the FAQ's in the ICE section.
   
   most people will say don't bother with 6x9's and just get some good components running off an amp. All covered in the ICE section.
   
   But again it is just an opinion, do what you want.

   Thanks again for all the help, i just trying to get to know the ins and outs of upgrading my car. Just one more quary are all in one sub and amps worth buying just while i get enoght money to upgrade to a decent amp or are they not worth it?
