Best Enclosed Induction Kit For Saxo?

  1. #1
Hey guys, recently joined up to the forum and was wondering if i could get some help from you Saxo Guru's out there. I have a 1.4 Westcoast. Its already got a K&N Cone indcution kit, but i wanted a Cold Intake air feed kit to maximise performance.

At the moment im repairing the paintwork, im filling cracks, sanding and priming but will upload some pictures of progress soon. But have a few queries, i scanned through the turbo charge/super charge page but wanted to know figures, how much would i be looking to spend to get a turbo fitted, working and SAFELY working in my 1.4, would i have to upgrade to 1.6 to even think about doing this? And again i read the thread on Dump Valve sounds etc, im eager to get my car sounding mean, i already have a twin exaust on the back and mentioned earlier the KnN Induction in their, but would like a few helpful tips on how I can make it sound the part, as well as go the part.

Sorry about the long winded essay i wrote you guys, as i said im new, so criticisms and advice are welcome.

Hope all is well with the Saxperience family. Thanks Again!!

    Joe.

Id say the best is a BMC CDA,

also to turbo you would be looking at 3000+ but to get the most BHP you would be best swapping to a VTS engine first

Woah, sweet, thanks for the heads up, i've been looking into BMC Closed induction kits. Any idea how much + i can expect from installing one of these as apposed to my current K&N induction cone filter?

gains can differ, and to be honest you wont see much without other modifications and re-map etc

its definitely going to be more than an open induction kit as it wont be sucking in warm/hot air

Just get a green cotton panel filter.. I dont see whats wrong with the standard Air feed pipe ... Bar the fact that its a bit bendy.

There is a sticky at the top of the performance section which coveres various different gains for different mods.

You could well be loosing power over a standard air box with a cone filter if it's sucking hot air in.

+1 I've just got the standard airbox and feed pipe with a K&N filter in it, nothing wrong with that imo!

I have a BMC and a full supersprint system and my car made 107.1 BHP

The K&N gen 2 is supposed to be pretty good for the Saxo too.

I've read into the whole open air filter being bad for the oxygen intake of a car, i mean thats why i was looking into the Enclosed Carbon Fibre with cold intake feed, there anywhere between £130-£150. I mean i dont want to jump onto eBay n get a knock off one

TBH your better off spending your money on an exhaust than a induction kit thats only going to give you 2 - 5 horsies .... You will see more increase from the system..... and some of these induction kits are close to what you'd pay for a supersprint and a kam race box.
