Droplink?

Just went to view a saxo vtr, everything fine on it, little knocking at the front but he said it just needs a new droplink at the front he said, its due for mot so apparently they will pick it up? Should I be worried about this or not?

Dirt cheap replacement, only £15 for a pair so absolutely nothing to worry about if it is definately a drop link

There are other causes of knocking though on the front suspension.

Track rod ends (again £10 per pair is average price)
Wishbone ball joints (£5 each just need pressing in)
Top mount bearings £20 per pair
    Driveshaft (£70 each)
Hub bearing (£20 plug labour for pressing in)

Front suspension is very cheap. Ask him if you can jack off the side thats knocking, whip the wheel of and check all of the rubbers on the variour ball joints. If any are split theyll definately need replacing.

as said, i recently replaced the pair of mine, cost me £17 for the bits. not difficult to do yourself provided the bolts haven't seized. however, its better to airgun them on imo so if you have a mate with an airgun get him to do it.

For the price of a drop link if its a dealer say if its replaced you'll have it. Happy days if theyre giving you 12 months warranty on it
