MPI heads

    no expecting many to know but may aswell ask.

    1.1 and 1.4 MPi heads 2000+ cat in manifold engines, the heads is there any difference in them bar the cam? I know the valves are prob the same due tot he fact last time I burnt a valve in the old 1.4 I used one out of the spare 1.1 head same size

    think they are mate, sure its just the stroke of the piston to make the extra cc's

    just wanted to make sure Andy mate as I remember on old 1.4 head went I killed the exhaust valve I just got one out of the spare 1.1 mpi head and it went right in valves both sides measured up the same.

    any particular reason you ask? or just curious because of the aformentioned

    no mate you know with my engine right now problem is the 1.4 16v is a while off being sorted properly yet plus the HG as you know s bit iffy on the current engine due to knobber before me driving the car for a while when the matrix burst so looks like head has expanded/contracted and HG has been disturbed near a water bit. Weird thing is that it does not over heat or use water at a bad rate (a bit every few weeks).

    So thinking get later head, bosh the later vtr inlet I got on it do HG, belt, tensioner will be more solid and reliable base for the turbo then

    ahhhhh i see, sounds like a plan, my vtr h/g must be one as theres little water left in and is a bit smokey now(white, very little so, not that it matters lmao, heads off anyway before long!!
