TU5JP4 Engine

Thinking about buying a TU5JP4 engine out of a 206xsi in the near future

Will this fit straight into my vts?

Mines a single plug ecu, the jp4 is a 3, will i need the ECU aswell?

Is this the head with bigger valves?

    Are the saxo cams better?

engine is similar might get away without the ecu, might have to change some sensors on it from your old engine, i might also be talking shit lol.

Not meaning to sound like a cunt but have a search bud theres loads on this on the forums .

It is a worthwhile swap, in my opinion. The main downside is that you cant run the popular PH3/708 camshafts as youll bounce valves.

Ive ran a TU5J4 and then a TU5JP4 with J4 cams and internals back to back and much prefer the JP4. Its smoother, and the mid range is better. Im not too bothered I cant run the 708's, if I want more power Ill build something crazy with one of my other engines. But for those who feel they will want more power, it might be worth getting the pistons machined or fitting forged ones before you put it in to for future proofing. With the J4 cams and decent breathing mods they provide around 145bhp at the fly, its certainly enough to have a lot of B road fun.

    Thanks mate

is it an exact straight swap?

Nay, you need a plethora of parts from a J4 engine, all the sensors, flywheel, sump, both manis and a few other things. Not a huge job but not a straight swap.

    What sensors do i need?

I need to use my own inlet and throttle body, do they fit right onto the engine?

Why the sump? Is it deeper on the jp4?

I thought the exhaust manifolds were exactly the same?

Straight fit onto the gearbox though yeah?

All of your J4 ones. Nope, youll need to tap 5 holes along the top bank for the inlet (M6X1.0), and two for the exhaust mani (M8X50), and the oil pressure switch needs adjusting. The sump is a much deeper alloy unit on the JP4, the J4 mani wont fit around it, hence JP4 manis are deeper. Gearbox is a straight fit but youll need the J4 flywheel and clutch. Theres a few other things that need doing too but theyre the main ones.
