alternator belt squeeking

   ok alternator belt started squeeking today, it is a new belt and was fitted 3 days ago, what could it be it feels pretty tight but not too tight does it need any lubrication lol ?? any ideas

   they can seemingly 'free up' a bit after fitment - although they shouldn't. So you might need to just tighten it up a touch.

   going outside in a moment to have a go,,,was driving last night oh my days it was unbelievably annoying!

   make sure you can't twist the belt anymore than 90degs along it's longest point, or that you can't push it down more than 5mm - should give you about the right tension.

   tightend the fecker up roughly 5mil play in it and no more squeeking happy days lol, wd40 dont think that would work as it would just work for 20minutes dry up and squeeking return, if it was the pulley surley would have to use grease or oil

   Dont use any lubricant mate or its just going to fly off! Tighten it up a touch.
