Sportex Exhaust help

  1. #1
This afternoon I fitted a sportex backbox to my saxo vtr. I am having trouble getting it to hang right, I want it to sit right up close to the bumper.

I have tried adjusting the bracket and the centre pipe cannot be moved from the position at all which btw is banging/vibrating against the heatshield.

The centre pipe is just the standard vtr middle section but I was going to swap over with the 1.4 centre pipe I have sitting here but couldn't get this to meet the standard backbox last time. Will this fit to the sportex?

    Here's a pic

I really need some advice much appreciated.

i had to buy new rubbers to get mine sitting right but i also bought the sportex centre pipe

sportex say the backbox fits onto your existing centre pipe. Might try new rubbers but where the mounts are don't allow it to sit up. Might try fitting the 1.4 centre pipe I have lying around see if it stops banging but the exhaust might be too loud.

Cheers for link mate I have the exhaust as high up as it will go without the centre pipe hitting the rear axle but it just seems a really bad fit. The only things I can think it might be is the bracket is fitted wrong way round or the mountings need relocating, just got to have a play around with it

i have the bracket with the bolt to tighten it facing towards the wheel not inwards if that helps
