how do you release rolled up seatbelts?

    had the seatbelts in my car off for a good while theyve been stored rolled up.
    on wanting to re fit them i can't seem to release them and roll the belt out
    any suggestions?

    The little purple part with the ball bearing in it needs to be popped out and reset





    Or just leave it off entirely

    I cant remember exactly which side it is to take off. But i do remember one had slightly different markings. Basically the other side to what is shown above is a huge coiled up spring. if you take that side of it flys off and hits you in the face, and its really impossible to refit it all.

    You could probely open one side a VERY small amount and peek in. If it looks like the ratchet mechanism above then take the cover all the way off. If its looks like a copper colour then refit it quick and try the other side.
