Important! : Engine auto-diagnosis light. Quick answer needed!

   A couple of days ago i fitted a straight through supersprint centre pipe with a piper backbox to my 2002 VTS. This de-catted the car. I screwed the lambda sensor into the plug on the centre pipe. It's been driving fine but today the engine auto-diagnosis light came on.
   
   In the handbook it says it could be a fault within the fuel injection, ignition or anti-pollution systems. I'm guessing its going to be something to with the anti-pollution system because of the de-cat. The car still drives absolutely fine.
   
   So I just wanted to know is this normal? And is it fine to drive the car with the light on?

   mine did this a few weeks ago. Guy at the garage said it would a false reading from the lambda before even puttin it on the computer. It was and he just turned it off and it hasnt came back on since.
   
   Said he found it quite common in citroen and peugeot.

   Cheers mate. So it's not a problem driving with the light on? And the bloke you took yours to literally just turned the light off and didn't have to do anything else?

   I drove mine for about a week before going to get it checked. Yea I watched the computer when he was doing it. Was def the exhaust sensor and all he did was click a button to clear the error codes and the light went off. He said if it comes back on to change the sensor but it hasn't.
   
   I'm not saying its ok to drive as it may be somethin else. Best go and get and it checked anyway, but thats all mine was.

   probably just sorta 'shocked' the system or whatever, sensed it was working in different conditions so threw a wobbly, auto electrics and diagnostics are very fragile and even the slightest change in environment can cause it to throw up a fault. As said above, it will probably just be a case of clear the code, re-set to default then be sound.. if not, new lambda
