evening guys,
Ive got a 2002 VTR, which I bought off of the original owner. It came with two keys both with immobilser/transponder chips built into them.
It also came with one remote keyfob, which is on a keyring with one of the two keys (not sure why its only got one remote keyfob as all the families other cars have two remote keyfobs
).
This one remote keyfob is looking pretty battered after eight years of use
, so Id like a new one. Id keep the old one as a spare, meaning that both sets of keys have a remote keyfob as-well as a key with immobiliser/transponder chip.
So, I need a new remote keyfob and then it to be paired to the car where and how much am I looking at for each of these? Or can I do the pairing of it with the car once I've sourced a new remote keyfob?
Ive had a brief look around here on the forums (shocker as someone searches before posting!
) and I've found people saying that when theyve changed the battery in their remote keyfob and needed to re-initialise it with the car they had to unlock the doors manually and then press the lock button twice, but I would assume that the process of pairing it with the car in the first place is different to this re-initialising process?
Cheers all
Ed.
