What are the easiest things to do for more power? Such as new exhaust and induction kit.. any more?
Easiest way for more power

#2A good service and fresh fuel will generally give your engine a new leash of life.
-
#3as much as i hate to say it, search buddy...
although
exhaust system
air filteration
cam(s) -
#4Decat ftw
-
#5Yeh decat is the 'easiest' way (cheapest)
then maybe a cold air induction kit like pipercross viper are good, only a few bhp tho -
#6For out and out pound for performance, a new manifold, completely changes the driveability of the car.
Or just take everything out of your car and make it lighter, thats free! -
#7engine conversion!!! exhaust and induction kit etc your going to be chasing every single hp you can get. for the price of a new exhaust and induction kit you could have a 16v engine.

#8Remove any unwanted items from the boot and back seat. In fact remove the back seat. Remove the spare wheel and carry a can of tyre weld and an RAC/AA/Green Flag membership card instead.
I also remember reading this on a Smart Car website called Evilution when I had one.
The spark plug is a very simple device, it introduces a gap in a high voltage system to create a spark between two electrodes. This spark ignites the compressed fuel/air mix to create the combustion in the engine. Each spark plug is fed by an HT lead from a coil pack. What many people don’t realise is there is no cable taking the electric away from the plug. The engine block actually becomes a part of the circuit, creating a route for the power to return to the battery.
If the engine earthing lead is degraded or poorly connected it can restrict the flow and therefore lessening the spark at the plugs. A lesser spark means lesser combustion when you need it. Lesser combustion means a lower performance and higher fuel usage per mile. Simply by upgrading the earth cable and increasing the connection you can unleash a greater potential from your plugs.

#9Dont want to change the engine mate, cant afford it and i have no idea what i would be doing, think im going to go for a good service, fresh fuel, induction kit, exhaust system and manifold. I cant afford cams either. And im not decatting it because i dont want to have to change it over for my MOT, thanks for the help everyone
-
#10de-cat is clearly awesome and it's what i'd do first
-
#12No you wont. You just put the cat back on at MOT time. Its a piss easy job. When the car passes its MOT, you put the decat pipe back on. Half hour tops, and that includes making a mug of tea.
-
#13I wont be the one who puts it on, im paying to get a centre pipe on, cant afford to get some one to put a decat on, then to take it off, then to put it back on again. Thanks any way mate.

#14In the last 6 months, I've had to replace the cat, the back box and centre pipe all at different times. Almost all times, it was a case of jacking up the car, undoing some clamps and clamping back in the new bit. All I used was an adjustable spanner and a rachet set. A few swear words too and that was about it. Saved a fortune on labour costs, and it really is that easy. And quick!
I'd rather throw fivers out the window before going to a garage to get an exhaust fitted on my Saxo. -
#15Buy a faster car
-
#17Its not rocket science, just buy a haynes manual for £10 and you will save 100's of quid on labour.2 users thanked this post: ,

#19that all links back to completing TB3 . . . its not just for audioQuote:Remove any unwanted items from the boot and back seat. In fact remove the back seat. Remove the spare wheel and carry a can of tyre weld and an RAC/AA/Green Flag membership card instead.

alot of you people who want power shoould do it too!
-
#21Straight through decat and cold air induction : ) and a bloody good survice
-
#22Good quality spark plugs usually help
-
#23i agreee deffo go with engine conversion mate will give you a noticable difference in power not just one that says it on paper
-
#24if it's a mk2 3 plug engine furio then your easiest and cheapest way for power is 98bhp vtr engine, all you need is the engine and ecu loom will be plug n play so use the furio one, lob the manifold exhaust etc on that
