-
#4when was it last serviced av noticed dont get much for money due to petrol prices to be honest and u do consume more fuel driving round town and not on long runs1 user thanked this post:

#5Service it, if it aint been done latley. Could be faulty lambda sensor.1 user thanked this post:

#6it was serviced over a month ago but ill get that looked at just in case thanks for the help
-
#7Yup, I'll also bet on a faulty lambda.1 user thanked this post:

#8Car might just have a drinking habit?
Rehab time !? -
#10does it have induction kit sarah as they help drink it sometimes as well but yeah if really bad lamba sensor or due a service or just a heavy right foot lol
-
#12if no leaks or anything then try running some redex thru it clean out filters a bit
-
#13Ill try that :o)
-
#14probably a lambda issue to be fair, any lumpiness in fuel delivery/hesitation at idle?
Exhaust blowing at all? -
#15Fill up when the light comes on, take not of how many litres you put in & reset the trip. Then drive around until light comes on again and take note of how many miles you have done on the trip. You can then work out your MPG to see if there is something wrong.
-
#16Youre better brimming the tank, then measuring mileage, its more accurate than the reserve light that comes on at random
-
#17had the smae problem on mine, it was the lambda sensor, my emissions wereat 10% + on the co readings lmao, do you have a mil light?
-
#18Could try changing the fuel filter. They leak like nobodies business when their getting old.
-
#19i had same sort of problem what are you getting to a tenner i was lucky to get 40 miles filled tank up with bp ultimate a couple times then it seemed better had it serviced just fuel filter plugs and oil i do have a decat and induction kit but it made an improvement now il get atleast 50miles to a tener1 user thanked this post:

#20I remember when a £10 could buy you almost half a tank of fuel. The fuel blockades at the turn of the century were in protest of fuel going up to 60p/litre.
-
#21Check your fuel tank, make sure there is no leaks what so ever, even the smallest of holes and it will drain realy quick, the fuel filter is probably the next place to look, it was pissing out of mine when i first fired her up (two years in a garage).1 user thanked this post:

#22Thanks for the suggestions guys looks like the hole in my cat might be the culprit
so looks like yet more money being spent
-
#23Oh dear, you could opt for a decat to save some cash, or get a sports cat which gives you the benfits of a decat but no need to change anything over ome MOT time
