Rear Brake Advice

  1. #1
    Hi guys,

I have a vts (x reg) and the rear brakes dont seem to working greatly, if they even are working!

I was told that this could be the load sensing valve, so I have dont a search on here and most if not all of the results relate to the load sensing valve locking up the rear wheels.

I was wondering, could it be the case that this valve could be adjusted to put more pressure on the back brakes, in turn making the rear brakes more effective??? If so, how would I do this??

    Cheers

tap the calipers with a hammer mate

If the caliper was siezed you would know about it, ie it would be on fire within about 4 miles,

sounds like the Brake bias thingy ma jig its on the top of the rear beam.

I dont think its the calipers because the discs look like they arent being used! Whats the best way to free the valve?? Loads of WD40?????

I think all MK2 VTS' have electronic brake distribution rather than the bias valve on the rear beam.

Strip both the calipers down and make sure they're free to slide.
