Weird Noise !....

   Hi all
   
   Just a quick question. On parking my car, on a couple of occasions today the car has made a short weird buzzing / muffled alarm like noise when the ignition is turned off / key is taken out. Does anyone know what this sound is for / trying to tell me ?

   The sound you hear when stopping the engine is the power Steering pump switching off (takes a second to slow to a stop). If you are hearing it without taking key out perhaps pump is starting to fail?
   
   Otherwise your alarm might have been playing up?

   mine does this, this sounds really stupid mate but does it sound like what youd imagine a spaceship would make if you switched that off lol.
