#2You may need to shave the wheel archs or buy some spacers
-
#3Not worth the hassle,go for 16" instead.17's will need to have arch's modified and may fuck ya wheel bearings quickly.I bought 17's in haste and regretted it after.Gonna stick with my Vts rims.

#4I had 17's on my mk2. There fine tbh, but it will affect accelerating slightly by being slower. U can lower it 40mm easy, any more and the car wont move without serious arch modifications!

#5Hey matey,
I have 17s on my saxo now.. I have no problems.. In total the size of my alloys and tires are almost the same as having vts alloys. All I done is just have smaller tires. If you have vts alloys with the standard tractor tires and put them next to mine theres not much different. They do look nice having bigger alloys but its all down to you. Mine was 50 mm lowered all around. -
#6thanks every one for the advice i will be getting some 17 with low profile tyers i have vtr wheels at the mo will have to clean them up and sell them

#717's will go on with mods. Roll the arches, remove the wheel arch liners, possibly modify the washer bottle. You'll probably lose full lock. And your speedo will now be accurate rather than 10% down like is generally is on standard wheels/tires.
You shouldn't need spacers at all, and they wont bugger your wheel bearings any quicker than any other wheel - don't know where someone got that idea from...
Handling will worsen, as will acceleration. Top speed will improve though.
Have fun

#8i had 17" on mine and mine was lowered 40mm just the same and it rubs on the water bottle mate i wouldent go any bigger than 16" if i were you but upto you mate just my option hope this helps gaz

#9Yes you will lose full lock.. But with me I never ever use full lock.. But like said with low profiles its pretty much the same as the vts/r alloys with the standard tractor tires... If being honest My tires have never hit the water bottle.. It did hit a coolant pipe just behind the wheel.. But I tied it back abit with a pull tie and its not touched it since

#10i was thinking bout 17's or maybe 16's but ionly have 3 stud wheels =[
