sensors

If i was to get a 3 plug vts loom and a single plug engine what sensors would i need to change to fit the 3 plug loom? thanks in advance.

All the sensors in the TB bar the reheating probe, the sub-loom on the injectors would need replacing for a three plug one (or a suitable replacement wired up), the coilpack, oil pressure sensor/level sensor in the front of the block, and a 3 plug alternator would be needed or youll have to put an O ring on the dial feed.

Off the top of my head thats it.

to be honest this sounds a lot but imo this would be easier than fitting a single plug loom in a three plug car, it only takes a minute or two to splice a new connector on with some heat wrap, its probably a good idea to have both looms and just cut off the connectors that you need

Its not just the connectors unfortunately, the main difference is that 3 plugs use independent ignition timing for the sparks and injectors. Single plugs use batched ignition so cylinders 1-4 and 2-3 are matched, so the three plugs have more wiring. Few other little bits are different too.

oh rite fair enough lol should just do what i did and get the 16v engine that matches your car lol makes life much easier

Aye its much less hassle, Ive had to do a conversion like that before and it was a nightmare for me and the client. Its only worth going for the wrong one if the engines been highly tuned in my opinion, and then swap the sensors to the other plug and not mess with looms as far as possible.

some one today said they got quoted £350+vat to splice the looms together, really isnt worth it unless like you say the engine is something special

    Shit me, tad extortionate lol
