Reprogram Keyfob?

  1. #1
My keyfob has not worked for about 5 months as I kept having to get closer and closer to unlock/lock the car. I then started using the key because I didn't really need the keyfob. However someone broke into my car and smashed the lock so I thought a cheaper alternative was to buy a new battery.

My keyfob now has a new battery but doesnt work, someone told me that it may need reprogrammed? How much does this cost?

    Thanks

the remote control must be reinitaliased after changing the batteries.
to do this, use the key to unlock the doors and press button A (thats the big 1) of the remote control twice

    think that should do it

Hmm, I tried that earlier. I opened the car and started it and then tried for a few minutes to lock the car. It didnt work either locking or unlocking!
Anything else about re-initialising it. Brand new battery and the fob used to work. My keyhole is broken but the central locking works fine by the door pins
