Spark Plugs and acceleration

Do spark plugs give a noticible improvement to acceleration or not?

Indeed they do - your car won't go anywhere without them.

Spark plugs won't make any difference on a 1.1
Don't waste your time trying to make a 1.1 faster, if you want more power find a different engine.

    Just maintain it mate.
Get a panel filter for the airbox.
Some NGK R plugs and regularly change the Oil.

But seriously there's no point spending money on upgrade parts on a 1.1 unless you bought a Manifold with the intention to eventually buying a VTR lump. Even that though won't make much difference.

bTW you can find cheap and cherrful service kits on ebay, you will ned to buy oil seperately though (10/40 semi synth will be fine). Oh and don't forget the square drive for the sump plug so you can get it off.

Spark plugs, oil, oil filter, fuel filter etc are all general service items and should be maintained appropriately, don't expect to gain a performance increase by changing them, unless they've not been changed since the car was new, in which case you'll notice a slight gain, but nothing over what it should be standard.
