saxo vtr will not start please help

   hi there new to the site
   I have a massive head ache of a problem that no one seems to be able to fix ere goes.
   its a mk1 97 vtr saxo
   i cant get it to start, my mechanic has changed the crank shaft sensor, fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump relay, had the ecu checked, replaced the battery still with no luck. The wierd thing is if i disconnect the electric plug from the fuel pump it will start but has soon has i plug it back on the engine cuts out really weird will probably be replacing the fuel pump tommorrow to give that a try but any ideas would be great.

   fuel pressure regulator maybe?

   hmm sounds strange, i would have said change the crank sensor but if its already been done then im unsure,
   
   sound like the fuel pump is shorting out, or the wire to the fuel pump is shorting out somwhere,
   have alook around for some breaks in the wires etc etc,
   
   Just be carefull, Petrol + sparks don't go together very well dude,

   many thanx for replying but ive replaced that its a very strange problem which my mechanic as never come across before just thought id punt the idea around with uuu guys this site extremely helpful thanx daisuu

   apparently the guy who had it before said its started to play up cutting out for about 2 weeks before it finally wouldn't start at all cheers guys

   my vtr has problems like this.
   I have just fitted new battery after it kept going flat and only just got her home.It misfired and rev counter went crazy reving backwards.
   So i fitted new battery with gold terminals.
   Now uit wont fire.fuel getting through.
   took coilpack off and checked and i am not getting any spark.
   I dont know even if the imobiliser bulb is in dash or working.
   are there any rellays before ecu or fuses ect to check before further parts are brought?
   It has a new toad cat 1 could this of reset ect???opens and closes fine.
   driving me nuts and im skint grr grr flamin saxos lol
   greatfull for any input ideas or visits,am in rugby cheers Gaz.
