Rattling Heat Shields

   When i changed my handbrake cable when i took off the bolts of the heatshield to access the tensioner for the new cable. 2 of the bolts & threads completely snapped and the heat shield is rattling and is quite annoying is thier anyway to sort this?

   I whacked a rock in the works Navara last week, clipped the heat shield. I used all of my saxo know how and cunning......and kicked that off too

   How do they come off they sit over my exhaust and cant be pulled down from the sides as the exhaust pipe blocks them. Can they slide to the front off the exhaust towards the engine and come off?

   unbolt the centre pipe and slide it forward? or undo the clamp on the backbox and run it down a bit. might even be able to get it off without taking that off, just have to slide it quite far!

   just yank fuck out of it it is a very soft metal so will move around the exhaust when being pull unless your weak lol

   You just need to unhook the system from its three mounts and lower it to get at the shields mate.
   
   Those studs always snap, theres no other alternative than to remove the heatshield unles new studs are welded on or bolts are threaded through. Theyre not hugely necessary anyway, the only important one is the fabric one under the fuel tank.

    Got them off alright big difference as they were rattlin constant.. Cheers
