    Too long lol

i had limited tools as im in the process of moving house, and most of my tools are still in the other house

i used a drill to remove the slats, drilled several holes in a row and snaped the plastic, then smoothed the rough edges with a file, cut the mesh to shape with wire cutters, and attatched it using 'Milliput' and a black duct tape so it doesnt show up, sanding down, primer, paint, and lacquer took a day allowing 2 hours between coats to dry, and a quick sand down between coats to make it nice and smooth

Im more then happy with the results, looks so much better IMO

my theme will be blue/black/yellow, so the chevrons are going yellow, but are staying off the car til i get the wheels im looking for!

  12. #12
Looks good mate, I need to replace the grills on my car, im getting it prepped and sprayed end of next month all being well and wanted to do the grills, and calipars yellow, hopefully when the money starts to come in keep the same co-ordination under the bonnet, get a yellow rocker cover, pipes etc.

All in all the black grill looks solid Where'd you get the mesh from?
  13. #13

i was gonna spray it for now, but cut it when i can afford to.. i know it seems silly to paint it, then ruin that work to cut it, and then paint it again, but the front looks a little "off" just have a black grill on the front of a blue car haha

Im doing my calipers yellow too, but im looking for a nice set of multispokes at the moment so you can actually see them, vtr wheels cover them up too much, so it would be kinda pointless lol

Got the mesh of the bay, bought 2 'sheets' and its really nice quality stuff, the sheets are tall enough and wide enough to do the 'widemouth' and there was a fair bit left over from the 1st sheet after doing the top grill so you could use it for other stuff (like deslating the air vents in the car and stuff (just to be a little different) lol

If any one wants the item number for the mesh
I used this stuff: 190321488656 qty [2] (for both grill and widemouth)

    Cant fault it really

looking nice on the car mate whats the next mod you got in mine then ??
  20. #20
next mod will be painted "widemouth" front bumper/bottom grill.. til i can afford to cut it properly lol

ive got a set of angel eyes to go on, but they are the silver kind and im looking to get the black ones, but might keep the silvers, dunno yet!!

and im looking for a set of multispoke alloys

im leaving the chevrons off the car til i decide what colour wheels to get

either white - chevrons go white

or black with yellow lip - chevrons go yellow

    just subtle mods really

    UPDATE!!

Finally got round to spraying my chevrons white and putting them back on!
    opinions? (car theme is blue/black/white)
Theme was gonna be blue/black/yellow, but found the wheels i wanted, but in white (See sig)
So i bought those, and changed theme to white instead of yellow
Havent fitted the wheels yet, as im waiting for locking bolts to be delivered to me..

hah cheers, good luck with the yellow!

my plan was to have black wheels with a yellow lip, but the white wheels are pretty mint, and got em for £250 with 4 brand new toyo proxes t1-r's 194/40/16.. would have been silly to not that the offer lol

i now also have some black engel eyes to go on,
and soon i will 'wide-mouth' the front bumper, should look spot on when im done - hopefully!
  26. #26
Yea like i said it's looking really good at the mo, that's a bargain tbh with the wheels.

You're plans sound good, i'll defintely be keeping an eye out for the progress
