Anyone recondition gearboxes?

   I have been qouted 250 for a reconditiong, can anyone do it cheaper or sell me one for a 2001 vtr?

   Its much cheaper to buy another used box but with reconditioned gearboxes your gauranteed there will be no probs. Looking for good used box will not be easy. If you have the money then i will most certainly advise you to get a reconditioned one.

   cheapest i could get was £360

   £250 is cheap, to do it properly the parts are £150

   i paid £380 and got a warranty luckily as it has gone again and they gonna re do it next week

   i payed 280 fully recon and fitted with 2 year warranty

   I'd check first exactly what has been changed.
   
   90+% of these so called "reconditioned" gearboxes are just new seals and bearings. And they're cheap enough. It's the synchro's that cost a small fortune to replace.
