RIP :(

    Evening all,

Just got back from the hospital, firstly RIP to my saxo

Basically something jumped out in front of me and i braked relatively hard causing my car to slide and i eventually hit the central reservation, i was only doing about 60 mph as im not really one to speed.

As you can probably imagine im distraught and still in HUGE amounts of shock, i wouldnt wish any accident on anyone..below is a picture of the damage and the ambulance crew are saying im lucky to be alive, if there was a car coming behind me then i would have been in trouble!

I dont know what to do now

  2. #2
unlucky mate , these things happen

    thats what insurance is for
  3. #3
poor saxo, glad ur alright though
  4. #4
Shame about your car but at least your alive, chin up mate.
  5. #5
any ideas what jumped out in front of you?

insured fully comp or are you selling it for parts on here??
  6. #6
I will be salvaging whats left yeah just to throw towards a new car!

Still staying with a saxo..who knows

Only third party F&T so pissed, act of god like a deer i believe
  7. #7
At least the passenger compartment wasn't too badly munched. Did the dash come in on you at all?
  8. #8
I dont think so, cant really remember a lot mate, i think the front end of the car saved me
  9. #9
Yeah thats the only problem with Saxo's lol, they crumble rly easily, but the more it crumples, the less dmg to yourself. had 3 head ons in my Saxo with a massive repair bill each time, until eventually it got rolled in a ditch n i gave up trying lol. Now, she too has joined the Saxo Owners Club in the Sky. lol. Always good to come out alive though mate.
  10. #10
mate, a car can be replaced but you can't!
Keep your head up and things will be fine, think yourself lucky

You had three head on's? How did you manage that? Most people never have one in their lifetime. [been in a ditch tho]
  12. #12
what did the plod say about it?
  13. #13
Ack. Well as everyones said mate, keep your chin held high, you still have both arms/legs and your sight, consider yourself lucky. Alot of people would trade places in an instance with some1 like yourself.

Apologies about your car, you must be distraught. But aye mate, keep your head up and look on to the future. Im sure you'll be able to bring some stuff together with the help of the Sax-P lot!!

    All the best mate.

Yeah it was Saturday though mate, if i had the chance i would have thanked everyone for their help

The reason for the black wheel, it was my spare a proper wheel but with the steelie on it..so its a legit wheel!

Nothing to do with the tyres if thats what your thinking..

I miss my saxo but should be thankful im alive, now i got to save up for another one

Insurance company will sort everything out for you.

Lastly thank your angel your still alive.
  20. #20
Oh dear that looks like a reet mess. Must have been terrifying. Least your still in one piece though.
  21. #21
Thanks all, nice to have some good support..

Havent been doing myself any favours asking 6000 questions, every emotion is going round in my head!
  22. #22
    glad youre ok!!

You did that at 60ish? Most saxo's look like that after a 30mph crash, let alone 60!

Very lucky you arent seriously hurt

my advice tho, go buy another saxo (and dont crash it!!) Lol

    - Dan.
  23. #23
I intend to, i just need to save up and hopefully find myself another 02 or 03 plate!

Not fussy, i just miss being able to go out easily, its a ballache!

Definately glad im alive though..just going to be hard the next few months
  24. #24
Looks like a mixture of the central reservation barrier and the crumpling of the front end saved you. Im impressed with how well the passenger/driver compartment has held up though. Good luck on find a new car mate, and hard luck on how the accident occured, sounds like it was just, one of those things.

    Ouch

I nearly hit a deer yesterday, it was a whopper glad i managed to stop in time, and not swerve. Phew, Luckly it was in a 5* NCAP rated car, so i hate to think what you went through!
  26. #26
Well at least your ok mate. If you hit the Deer worse damage would have been caused probably
  27. #27
True, just makes you think a lot!

Had a VTR now looking at saving around 2.5 k for a VTS, checked insurance prices now and for a VTS its only £791.83 so thats not too bad considering the events!

Possibly just take parts off the back end and interior and sell them, there must be people looking for parts? Lol
  28. #28
I found a nice VTS, you reckon it would be worth getting a loan at:

    £3000 for 24 months
    £144.69 a month
    15.2 APR
Have to pay £59.99 as admin fee..whats that about? :s

I really wouldnt get a loan, instead try to borrow the money from parents or something but with a contract attached.

if you absolutely MUST get a loan, try to do it through your bank!

    matt
  31. #31
Ive seen a X reg VTR for £750 92k so i might get that until i can afford an 03 VTS..

Loans are a bad idea im thinking unless they are short term and affordable

    Cheersss
  32. #32
doesnt look to bad ,glad nobody was hurt though thats the main thing . could rebuild that surely ? depending on wether the chassis legs are bent or not ?
  33. #33
    Glad your ok buddy.

Tbh, im surprised that your saxo held its shape as much as it did. A crash at 60mph i would expect it to be in a bit worse condition as that. At least expected it to inpact you.
Just good your ok though, heads up
  34. #34
Same as that mate, im on the hunt for another one though!

Going to sell everything off it i can, so if anyone need anything just shout!
  35. #35
act of god indeed matey but it'll turn out ok it always does. keep chin up and break what theres left. if its a vts maybe do a engine change on a 1.1?? itll work out mate i was depressed when i did mine in although mine wasnt as bad. glad your ok bud
  36. #36
When I did a front corner in [run off the road by a beige car on a bend] I pulled it straight again by tying a rope around a telegraph pole and reversing. Then found second hand bonnet and wing in the same colour!
  37. #37
all the best with your search. theres plenty of bargains out there. glad your ok.
  38. #38
Yeahh just got to keep my chin up i suppose, more pictures!

  39. #39
unlucky man , least your okay though, thats a proper gutter
  40. #40
I'm glad your ok after this, at the end of the day its just a piece of metal and it did its job (a good one at that) in keeping you safe.

Good luck with finding a new motor
