   Like an idiot l linked up my starter motor on Vtr the wrong way and now immobiliser light is on the dash. It just keeps turning over as immobiliser must be stoppin it. I have had a mobile mechanic out to have a look but he could get no read out from ECU. I Am aware I will need a new unlocked ECU but was wondering if anyone knows if I will have damaged the immobiliser unit aswell? Any help would be much appreciated

   have your tried reconnected the starter motor the correct way?
   
   and dissconnet the ecu for 30 mins, may get lucky

   I doubt that you will need a new ecu. The mechanic is probably useless.
