for 2kish could you cam-forged pistons-remap inc fitting... or would i need rods aswell as pistons reason for this is if i decide to keep saxo it will deffinately be getting throttle bodied at some point.. ive got rough idea for parts its just the fitting costs im unsure about

    any help appreciated

I can't imgine it being done for that with fitting costs.

I'm not sure what people charge for an engine build tbh.

The standard rods are good for 250ish bhp. It's just the bolts that let them down.

could you not do some of the work yourself like the cams and fitting of the bodies to save some wedge? At least it will mean the hole schbang is affordable?

unfortunatly no i dont mind doing odd bits n bobs like servicing but i wouldnt do any head work.. how much you think it would cost for fitting?

I would budget about £1500 for internals if you want it done properly.
You might see a bit of change from that.

Not entirely true, a higher revving engine will put more stress on the compononents its not just about the big bhp.

Re OP - pistons and mapping alone is circa 400 each, cams again around that, so depends if you can get the fitting done for a good £
