knocking noise when breaking

   when i break iv gt a knocking noise nd cn feel it through the pedal,it sounds and feels like its coming from the front nearside.
   
   just wondering if anyone has any ideas what it cud be, before i start hunting around tryrin to find it.

   i have the same noise on mine, im a mechanic and am yet to look at mine, but i suspect its the pad moving up and down in the carrier, does your knock become more apparent if you stab at the brake pedal with your foot rather than press it slowly?

   yer that sounds about right, if you break slowly you can sometimes get away without it making the noise, but if you break firmly the clunk is louder

   Bearings would be my first check..
