driving only in 2rd gear

   My friend Has a vtr and he only ever drives in second gear.. From pulling off its in second and also when hes doing around 30 its in second, surely thats goin end up breaking his engine. He says that it wont hurt his engine, what will happen if he keeps driving like this

   Simply, he's a cock.
   
   He'll be rinsing his petrol, that's about it, other than having to use his clutch more to pull off, so more wear. And possibly slightly straining the engine when pulling off.

   He won't do much damage.. Probably abit more wear and tear, like the clutch.. But 30mph in second is only about 3k revs iirc.

   Maybe buy him some driving lessons for his birthday?

   Bit stupid really because he will have to keep slipping the clutch to pull off in second. How does he get on when he pulls up at lights in second and its steep?
   
   Just ask him, do you know your gearbox has 5 forward gears?

   Yeah hes 19 not long passed his test. He keeps saying first is too powerful and 3 is too slow, hes kinda weird but let him be...

    How the fudge did he pass his test? Must have had 1 relaxed instructor, or he simply didn't hear any instructions due to the engine noise.

    Tell him that the throttle isn't a switch, so first doesn't have to be as powerful, and 3rd at 30 he shouldn't have any problems at all, if it's too slow, then accelerate more???

    Seriously why make the thread? you know hes going to get ripped and you keep saying leave him be!! 1st gear is purely for pulling away so hes justing to to smoke his clutch up lol, driveshafts, mounts its all going to wear due to the judder.
