Important! : question about management light!

  1. #1
guys, my engine management light came on friday afternoon. on the run up to the light coming on i have used v power in the cars for 3-4 months straight. i have done 2 track days in the car in this time too. last time i came off track i put standard fuel into the car for the first time in months then the management light comes on. so saturday i went and had a diagnostics on it and the guy who did it said that no actual fault was recorded, but it did come up saying my fuel trim had malfunctioned. which he said means the air/fuel ratio. i did ask if it could have been lambda, but he said its not likely as it hasnt recorded the lambda at fault.

has anyone on here had this before? is there a sensor i can change? its a bit annoying as ive been offered a new car for little money and the last thing i want is to sell mine with a fault.

    any help will be appreciated!!!

for the light to be on, there has to be an error to read.
unless he is using a crap machine, which then wont read all parts of the ECU!

i use the Bosch KTS 200, which so far, cant fault for the £3k spent on it!

well the guy gave me a number the machine put up, im sure it will be different to what your machine says but it was P 0170 if that means anything to you?

anyone else had air / fuel ratio sensor go wrong?!
