#2i work in a bodyshop as a panel beater/painter and people just bring in their standard bonnet/tailgates and we smooth them
-
#3nicee but im in ipswich
how much u do it for?
-
#4bonnet £140 painted
depends how you want the tailgate, like just badges smoothing or whole thing smoothing -
#6cheers mate
anyone else know where?
-
#7get out the local yellow pages and go and speak to some local bodyshops
i doubt you can buy them off the shelf from anywhere
second hand or get your done at a bodyshop are only options -
#9i'm in liverpool, i doubt you'd want to travel from grimsby to get it done
-
#10a no its a fair way just getting prices to see what am looking at paying
-
#11for fully smoothed lookin at about £150-200
-
#12Tar buddy

#13i dont get threads like this to get panels smoothed you have to go to a bodshpp and get some quotes or take a look in the for sale section ??
unless you wanna buy firberglass/carbon fiber panels which are more more for track cars as they are light not so much about what they look like and are gonna be expensive
and that £30 boot in half?? you sure you werent looking at boot smoothing panels? which you bond on to the original boot but they are crap -
#14he will of been looking at those boot panels, they are fibreglass, usually a terrible fit and not worth the ebay listing fee
-
#17fibreglass/plastic skins are wank! agreed!
I bought one from here and got it sprayed to my car color... cost me £130 in the end
And now gonna be selling soon for fibreglass one! -
#18You pay for what you get tbh, but that shitty fg for cheap, it will crack and end up replacing it, costing more than what a proper job would of cost
-
#19full smooth is a bad thing you have to remove the bonnet saftey catch,
-
#20so i shouldn't do it?
-
#21its upto you, its your car
-
#22just wonderin if i would bother, quite expensive to just get rid of a grill, but does look rather smart
-
#24i'll be selling my smoothed bonnet once i find another one, but at the moment they're like gold dust :/
-
#25smoothed boot big yes smoothed bonnet is gay imho just dont grab them.... carbon fiber bonnet yes
-
#26ok let me know when u sell it coz i would be interested, and anyone got a smooth boot? or know where to get a decent one from?
-
#28ok kool mate, what condition and how much u want for it? and does it come with the glass
-
#29I was looking at a fibre glass one of ebay. It's 120 pound for full fivre glass with a grill but... If it's going to crack, what's the point? =S
-
#30yeah i think im gonna leave the bonnet, a lot of work to just get rid of a grill, just gonna colour code grill and mesh it
and still wanting a boot thought, that does make it look really smart from my point of view
-
#31smooth boots suit saxos well i think. any bad points in having a full fibreglass bootlid. i know its lighter but does the paint on it look 'rippled' and will it crack over time?
-
#32well i make them up to order, drop me a pm
