VTR wheels wont fit my VTS :S :S

  1. #1
i got my self a set of vtr wheels to go on my vts .. i needed two tyres which ive brought for 80quid then another 50quid for spray laquar and primer ect..... as i wonted white wheels hence getting some vtr wheels,, right they loook the tits now they are all sprayed up ect... but ive got a problem they wont fit my car they fit on the back but on the front they wont go over the circle thing that they wheels sit on and then you can put the wheel nuts on.. the circle on the car is too big and wont allow the alloy to go on as the circle on the wheel is smaller how comes it wont fit as my mate has vtr wheels on his vts and as i no he didnt have a problem fitting them, just wondered have a spunked £220 in the last week or is they something ive missed thanks adam

sorry for the essay im just soo annoyed

Try getting a mate to hold the wheel up alighned to the holes then screw 2 of the wheel bolts in, this should put them on the circle bits, they defo ahould fit

nah mate- my team dynamics 1.2s have a little plastic thing in the middle of that, but thats came off when alloy came off, just the bare metal there mate

There isnt anything stuck to the inside of the wheel thats preventing it going on is there? Also it might not be the centre of the wheel stopping it, it could be something else touching you havnt noticed.

i tried all four wheels on the front and none fit- but all four fit on the back but the wheels that are car already fit fine on all and slot on over the circle fine, so i wouldnt of thought that would have problem fitting over it too oh im confused

also all brakes are standard ect... so that cant be touching- oretty sure i would of noticed that - as i was out there 4hours trying lol

its not really rusty mate- but it seems to be both the front that the wheels dont fit- they fit perfect on the back- just dont understand- thinking coming out a vtr would and should fit a vts lol

i know its puzzled me too
im gonna go and jack up car take wheel off,and take a pic and show lol it be easier that way
  14. #14
ive taken pics and just forgot i cant send them onto the pc from my phone ahhh lol- ive looked again and again but theres nothing in the way stopping it going on apart from the circle bit- i brought brakes discs for my saxo vts that came off a saxo vts and they sat perfect over the circle bit that the brake disc goes over so i cant see why it wont go on

    anyone

are you sure the discs havent been upgraded for example 283mm? might not be standard size

yeah but the disc sit over the hub mate and then the wheel sits over the hub disc shouldnt make any difference- only differance the disc is bigger would make the caliper stick out further there for the caliper would touch the alloy- which it doesnt ahh thanks though pal

Weird one there buddy, iv had no problems like this before, iv put vtr wheels on my furio fine, wolfrace, tsw......... never ever had a problem with the R wheels they should go straight on. you should get somebody to hold the wheel up and wind a couple of studs in and wind them up and it should fingers crossed pull over the hub dude, iv had that problem but they do fit 100%.

if i line the wheel up to match the holes its about 7mm away from the disc it goes up to- the bolts wont hardly grip and il end up rounding the studs off

try getting a wire brush to the wheel and the hub and give them a good clean, did you spray the inside if the wheels as well?, if you did you mite have to scrap the paint away to get them to fit, just a fort as i had to clean mine up and they wernt even painted

didnt spray the insides mate and did clean the hub and inside of wheel and seems to be very clean now- rust free from the hub and the alloy got no grit or anything of it- i sound like a plonk lol- cant fit vtr alloys on my vts, but theres soemthing wroung maybe with the hub but that cant be from both hubs as one hub came of a vts as one before was nakered and it doesnt fit that either might have to take it to a garage who does and knows about alloys and can see it doesnt fit lol thanks pal

that is a strange one mate lol, i know they can be tite as i have had to kick the fuck out of mine sometimes to get them off. Is it hard putting the vts rims back on? or do they go back on ok, im lost on this one to tell you the truth if you havnt sprayed them at the back, good luck

yeah the wheels that came off was team dynamics 1.2s and if i get one wheel the fit on fine and perfect on any hub bk or front of car but some reason the vtrs alloys only fit on the back strange but its seriiously doesnt fit on front for some gay reason
  24. #24
take it to a garage with the team dynamics on, and pay for them to put the vtr wheels on?
sounds ridiculous, but for a couple of quid you then havnt wasted £220 on the wheels, and it gets them on the car...
    tis a crazy situation though...
vts wheels should fit any vt same as vtr wheels, only thing could think of is upgraded brakes being too big for the 14" wheels...
take em to the garage and let them sort it i say..
    least youll get it sorted
  25. #25
the front hubs havnt been replace at some point have they? and the garage has just thrown on what ever fitted at the time? check your service history past MOT advisory's and fails ect. thats the only thing i can think of. good luck lol

thanks people for the replys what shit ive had over the 2years with my saxo no luck what so ever when it comes to changing things over ect

right.... good news maybe dont count me on it but ive found a hub that i previously took off my saxo and tried the vtr wheel on that and guess what ??

no luck with that just doesnt fit the same way the front too hubs on my car, so i faced the alloy face down put the hub circle on the alloy circle where its meant to sit in (wont go in) out comes the sledge hammer and slowly but hard whack the hub around like 12 o clock to 6 oclock to 9 oclock to 3 oclock like in one big circle and it gradually went down and sits how it should sit the same as the back- ive done this a few times taking it of putting it back on the wheel to slowly wear it in and its seem ok now- am gunna try and put the wheels on again tomo- but its still abit tight and its gunna be hard as i cant whack the face of the alloy- but i might try sand down a smooth lip on the wheels about 1mm just to make it that bit easier and hopefully that works fingers crossed sorry for the essay ha thanks adam

did they go on then ? its funny a mate of mine has a 306 and i got him some cyclones then he phoned me at work and said " the back wheels fit but the fronts dont" i loled for ages . He forgot to remove the spigots from the hubs before trying to fit them haha
  30. #30
The wheel could be deformed or buckled slightly, this may have reduced the diameter of the inner hole ever so slightly so it wont go on properly. Hope you sort it out mate but be careful as you want to make shure its safe.
  31. #31
i think you just not trying hard enough lol, if they fit on the back, 100% they will go on the front, cant see why they wont, get a pic up of hub and inside alloy
  32. #32
Tried the back ones on the front ?

are you sure theres not a spacer on the hub ?

also is there a plastic insert on the inside of the wheel or round the ring of the hub ?

if none of the above works or is wrong your fucked next best option is to go scrappy and get some hubs that fit round about 10-15 quid a side
  33. #33
will be trying in morning as one of my dustcaps that came with the wheels is super glued on ($%$E^$^$FBVB BD%TR^&) :@ :@ and dont wanna force it off as will prob make the valve leak, as the wheel is abit flat anyway, there was no spigot or anything on the hub or in the wheel- believe me i was trying harder enough- i tried my 2 front hubs and didnt fit- so i tried the hub that came off the car originally as that only had 3 wheels bolts that could go in as previous owner rounded it off- and the vtr wheels dont fit that- aint got a clue- but with shear force and about 2hours with a sledge and a little sanding down- they fit the hub now thats off the car- just hopefully it should be the hubs on the car- the wheels that fit on the back perfect doesnt fit on the front- ive tried 4 different vtr wheels that do not fit the front but fit the back- thats how strange it is lol, but think it might be sorted will let you lot know tomo and thanks for the help much appriciated and yeah they sit on the hub ok with no wobbles so hopefully should be safe lol :O

i had to put a vtr alloy on my vts front, it was proper tight to go on but did with little kicking
  35. #35
right welll took me about an hour on the weekend and managed to get them fitted never again lol
got a picture with the wheels on but the car is dirty so ignore that bit lol- will get more pics up soon once car has been cleaned
