problematic clutch, help please

bit of a long shot but wondered if anyone can diagnose this problem for me.
    a real noob to mechanics
every now and then if i rag my car a littlehttp://www.saxperience.com/images/emoticons/banghead.gif the clutch feels like its slipping for the next 20 miles or so. now a mate of mine has suggested that the clutch plate might be glazed over. ive bought a new clutch kit to replace it but im now thinking that i might not need to.
    so is this problem common?
and whats the easiest way to check the condition of the clutch without having to take the car to pieces more than necessary?
    appreciate the help in advance

the only way to fully inspect the clutch is to remove the gearbox from the engine mate, as to the clutch slipping.... normally this means the friction plate has worn and isnt gripping on acceleration so a replacement will be needed get an uprated clutch so it lasts longer the standard clutch and gearbox on all the saxos are absolute crap tbh......

Nothing wrong with the standard Valeo clutches. They can take some abuse.
