back wheel wobble !

  1. #1
when i bought my saxo i realised that the back rear wheel had a top inward camber, i asked my mate who's a mechanic and he said it was ok but i dont think it is, when i go over speed bumps the wheel looks as if it wobbles aroundm, anyone know what it is because i stumped its got no play in the bearings or axle and all the wheel nuts are tight,, help ? lol

Sounds like the axle is shot mate

my mate furio had this, it failed the mot and he had to fit a new axle!

sounds like something snaped or balls are fucked,

best bet is to pm wardesaxoboy and he tel you what happened with his, sounds like the same problem, hope this helps!

yeah thats what im worried about i use my car every day for work so i dont wana mess it up badly and i wana lower it 40mm too and if i doo that the way it id with the camber the wheels guna rub the arch, is that camber common or is it nakerd ?
  8. #8
i would say nakerd mate, do what my mate did, just buy a new rear axle thats around been lowered 40mm, will safe a whole of effect and time and he dont charge anymore for a lowered one! pm wardesaxoboy and il give u details mate!

your rear beam is knackered mate and needs replacing asap! I know when mine was shot it was horrible to drive, naffs the handling aswell, get it replaced before it causes any more damage!
  10. #10
yeah think i might do yu got any ideas on how much a new one would be ?
  11. #11
I paid 100 for a second hand axle in good condition, look to pay anything from 100-250 mate
  12. #12
    cant remember what wardesaxoboy paid!

maybe £300 but i might be totally wrong, someone will probs comment a correction!

sound mate cheers, i think il look into it tonight, is the axle a sealed unit or can it be taken apart ?
  14. #14
i believed sealed but i dont no much as never had a problem with my axle, i only say its sealed as u probs could fix it, if it was not sealed lol!

but tbh mate i aint got a clue!

wardesaxoboy knows abit about rear axles mate!
  15. #15
It's not a sealed unit but it's more hassle replacing the bearings in an axle etc it's just easier to buy a new one
  16. #16
lol, i think il have a tinker with my old man, i sent him a pm so hopefully he should be able to help before i do it
  17. #17

IM sell reconditioned beams for £290 and they take off £25 for your old beam and fitting is £80

So your looking at £345 for a new beam fitted
