vtr air box

   hi just wounder what is the bit that is under the air intake pipe on the air box on a mk2 vtr?it is just a roundish empty box from looks of it and im just woundering what it is for as im thinking about modifing it and using it as a extra intake pipe.

   I think it is used to make intake noise quieter. Some sort of reverberation chamber.
   
   Dont quote me on this though..... Its just what i thought it was.

   It is a resonator box fitted by the manufacturer to reduce induction noise. You can just bolt it off then run extra ducting to the airbox.
