Important! : Any GTi6 Brake Guru's? Mine wont fit, gawd knows why....PICS inside...

    I bought some calipers and carriers and pads, new off a saxp user.
    They were advertised as gti6 parts.

    I have ground the carrier and so without the disc on the saxo hub the caliper/ carriers fit lovely.

    If i put the disc on the hub (defo 283mm i measured it) the carrier catches the top of the disc and wont go far enough down to line up with the holes to attach to the strut.

    Its like the disc is too big but its 283mm like it should be. The discs are stickered up as being for a 405 but are the discs the same for a gti6. the offset seems ok as the caliper/ carrier attempts to fit over the disc when on the hub.

    I have lots of pics and my theory is the carrier is for a 266mm but Im stabbing in the dark.

    Help!



    thats the serial number on the base of the carrier (drivers side) its 32325294/ 3 8 112 does that help identify it?





    the discs box, the right discs i presume, i bought them from ebay and they were listed as being for a gti6...

    disc on the saxo vts hub...


    more randoms of the ground up drivers side caliper and carrier.
    and finally the pads (which fit perfect btw)...

    Sounds exactly like the problem I've been having. Turns out mine are from a 406 and won't fit!

    Who did you buy the brakes from dude?

    Not certain, but looks like a 266mm set up to me...

    I'm at work so can't see the pics but it sounds 100% like the issue I've had.

    Caliper is certainly a 283mm one.

    Finchowned is probably right
